SellMyMobile.com, a mobile phone recycling comparison website, recently released research results revealing that the number of smart phones being re-sold is on the increase as their owners look to make some quick money to combat their growing debt problems.
The list of phones re-sold included Blackberrys and HTC Android phones, however it is the inclusion of 844 iPhone 4s and 9 iPads that raises eyebrows.
Keir McConomy, managing director of SellMyMobile.com, said: "The fact that consumers are selling on iPhone 4s can mean only one thing: they need cash, and fast. There simply isn't a more desirable phone on the market, so the only possible explanation for their sudden re-sale popularity is that people really need an extra £360 in their pockets as the VAT hike bites."
